APPROACH

The Forum aims to be inclusive in its membership, drawing strength from the diversity of the organisations and individuals it will bring together who share a common interest in this vital topic. Members will include insurance companies and other businesses; caring professions; charities; organisations concerned with research and research funding; local Government; NHS and NHS trusts; academics; and consumer groups.

LIAISON WITH GOVERNMENT

The Government has established a Genetics and Insurance Committee to validate generic tests. The Forum welcomes this development and will seek to co-operate with the Committee, aiming to complement its work by encouraging research and debate which will help to establish the usefulness (or otherwise) of genetic test results for insurance applications.
