contribute actively to one of the most important debates of this new
millennium.
The Forum
will encourage informed debate and you will have the opportunity to
participate or to listen. You will have a say in what further research
is required in this area and in allocating priorities.
You will
also participate in the commissioning of such research. You will get
early access to the results of research and to discussions on how such
results should be interpreted.
We expect
the Forum to play a key role in taking forward the complex issues
surrounding the use of the results of genetic tests in the assessment
of people’s insurability.
You will
also play a role in helping to educate the public on this complex
subject, as the Forum seeks to provide accurate, balanced, and
impartial information to a wider audience.
